Last Days

Last Days in the Motherland
Come cry with her, take her hand
Or perhaps just sing and play
Slide these creeping blues away

In this place she tends to wilt
The crowds, cars, family guilt
Suffocates and holds her down
Comfortable and sickly ground

Still she loves the Motherland
Maw and Paw alive, Amen
Siblings come and go like bees
Amongst deciduous trees

With a threat of snow-filled skies
Will that awful airplane fly
Many oysters, too few pearls
Now a Rocky Mountain girl
